Message from the Allen Family
The Allen Family would like to express a great big “THANK YOU” to the many who helped to make The MAC 2nd Annual Pro Am 2008 which was held on April 20 and 21, 2008 at Holly Tree Country Club a huge success! The support and response from businesses and individuals alike continues to touch our hearts in memory of our beloved son, Mac. We sincerely hope all participants, whether at the Sunday evening 19th Hole Party or Monday on the beautiful golf course, enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the Holly Tree Country Club staff who did an amazing job! Azia, Bonefish Grill, Indigo Joe’s, Travinia Italian Kitchen, Marble Slab Creamery and 2 Chefs to Go outdid themselves serving up some incredible food on Sunday evening and the Back 9 did an awesome job of entertaining us until the end! Many thanks to Coke for providing us beverages throughout the two day affair and to Bubba Annie’s for lunch on Monday and Henry’s Smokehouse for dinner after the tournament. Big kudo’s to NIKE who set up a tent for our golfers-we hope you enjoy your gifts! We encourage you to support our Diamond, Platinum and Gold sponsors, businesses and restaurants who made our event possible all of whom can be found here on our website, compliments of our webmaster, Val Williams. Ron is heavily involved with our major recipient this year, sitting on their board, offering his time and support as their program is developed and implemented. With great pleasure, we presented a check to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club for $40,000 on Friday, May 2nd to fund their underprivileged soccer program in partnership with Liverpool Football Club and Global Events Group out of Atlanta. The presentation was made at a luncheon attended by Mayor Knox and the U-17 Liverpool Soccer Team and Coaches. The soccer team also accompanied us to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School where they proceeded to do a question/answer session following by a soccer kickaround with the students of the school. The excitement and appreciation from the children and staff alike for their efforts was priceless! While there, we presented QSA Performance with a check for $5,000 to continue our support of their structured physical education classes and mentoring programs there at the school. The Liverpool boys also did a kickaround session for the after school children at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club-we cannot thank them enough for their support and encouragement of our children! Carolina Elite Soccer Academy’s Top Soccer program for handicapped children will continue to have our sponsorship and our support will continue to reach out to other entities whose mission is to protect and encourage our communities’ youth through sports outreach, Christian based mentoring, and grief therapy programs to provide a strong foundation to build their future upon. Be on the lookout late this fall for information as we prepare for next years event—we certainly hope you will continue to support our foundation in our efforts to strengthen and expand our outreach. Again, please accept our sincere appreciation of your support! Warm Regards, Vickie R. Allen, President |
